My biggest fear was to be the last one standing. In some instances, like TV weight-loss shows, being the last one standing makes you the winner. This is not the case when you are forever a bridesmaid and never the bride.
I was excited for the first few friends who got engaged. I wanted to hear every romantic detail of the proposal. We would giggle together over wedding magazines. The bride-to-be swore I would be able to wear my bridesmaid dress again. (I did once. Regrettably, I looked like a bridesmaid, minus the bouquet.)
