VH1 has teamed up with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment on Single Ladies, a new comedic drama series that asks the question what do women really want in a relationship?
Set in Atlanta, the series follows three best friends with three different philosophies on sex and relationships. “Val” played by Stacey Dash is an ambitious aspiring fashion mogul who wants to find a true partner. LisaRaye McCoy plays Keisha, a former video dancer just looking for a rich man to keep her in style and Charity Shea is April the woman who has supposedly found the perfect man and the perfect marriage. What she’s learning is that marriage isn’t necessarily a happy ending.
Based on the movie Single Ladies, shot this summer with guest appearances by Lauren London, Eve, Common, Chilli, and Kim Porter, the series is set to begin production in late 2010. Stacey Littlejohn of The Wanda Sykes Show writes and Tamra Davis, of Grey’s Anatomy and Ugly Betty fame directs.
