According to an article in the Mail Online, single chaps looking for a girlfriend want a woman who is slim – no surprise there.  Trouble is that although many women need to be eating salad constantly to keep the shape 75% of men would like, nine in ten of these guys also want Ms Right to be happy eating a big lunch too.

The poll of 3,000 bachelors by UKDating.com also found that although many men would date a woman who has a degree and earns more than he does, over half want her to settle down with children rather than pursue her career.  In fact, six out of ten men believe this perfect woman is out there.

Now obviously women are guilty too.  We want him to be sensitive but we also want him to “act like a man.”  We want him to “take care of us” but we’re not willing to relinquish control unless he does it our way.  Maybe this is why so many people are single?  What are some other contradictory requirements that get in the way of finding a mate?
