Just a couple of weeks after their 25th wedding anniversary, Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger have separated.
“This has been a great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time we are living apart, while we work on the future of our relationship. We are continuing to parent our four children together. We consider this a private matter, and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect fro the media and the public,” the couple said in a public statement.
An unlikely pair from the get-go, Shriver recently released a Youtube video asking people how they dealt with transition. Divorce and separation are perhaps two of the most difficult ones that women go through. What advice would you give her for going through transition?

No one knows what goes on inside a marriage except the two people who are married. I am certain this decision is a huge one for this couple as it is for any couple who find themselves in a difficult situation on the verge of unhappiness or just stuck in a mundane life with an excellent roommate. People do grow apart and although it’s sad, its a fact of life. I wish them both peace and love again. Perhaps the separation will allow them the time they need to either realize they want to be apart…or they want to be together. Good luck no matter what the decision for both.
