Top 10 Cities For Bachelorettes

So what are we single gals looking for when it comes to finding a place to call home?  Rent.com recently surveyed single, U.S. female renters and owners to better understand our habits and attitudes toward home.  According to the survey, 36 percent of us rent, and 54 percent are homeowners and like every other area of our lives, we’ve got a checklist.  First and foremost it has to be affordable, then pet-friendly and for some of us, it also has to be close to work.  Here are the top picks:

1. Phoenix, Arizona

Plenty of sunshine, a low cost of living and the knowledge that 30 percent of the town’s men are single come together to make Phoenix the top spot for the unattached woman.

2. Seattle, Washington

Unemployment is below the national average here.

3. Austin, Texas

Touted as “the up-and-coming capital for creative singles,” the single men outnumber women here and with an unofficial city slogan, “Keep Austin Weird”, it’s bound to be fun.

4. Denver, Colarado

Denver is an excellent fit for sporty gals who like the snow and the mountains.  Did we mention mountains?

5. Washington DC

Career minded, power players flock here and if you do meet the love of our life, the city also boasts a lower divorce rate than other parts of the country.

6. Chicago, IL

If it was good enough for Oprah!  Besides rents are cheaper and apartments are bigger than other big cities like New York.

7. Los Angeles, CA

Los Angeles gets our vote for the weather, restaurants and entertainment. Lifestyle really doesn’t get any better here but we’d argue that the men prefer their single status a lot longer than most.

8. Las Vegas, NV

This city dedicated to nightlife also has a higher ratio of unmarried men to women.

9. New York, NY

Finding happiness in the Big Apple is easy, providing opportunities to meet some of the most ambitious, cultured men in the country and even if you’re not interested, you’ll be guaranteed a passionate romance with the city.

10. San Jose, CA

Seems like a strange one but it kind of makes sense considering that many of the eligible bachelors of Silicon Valley live here, that is when they’re not working.
